"Change is best brought by impacting policy and the two institutions that impact policy the most are the government and universities." It was this thought that lead him and his like-minded friends to form the Canada-India foundation, an organization whose primary mandate is "to become the bridge between India and Canada so that we can influence the public policy in each of these countries."

"To influence the Canadian government it was important to showcase the best of Indian excellence and global leadership of Indian diaspora, especially at a time when the whole world was admiring India," says Mr. Chanchlani. Thus was germinated the idea of the Global India Award. .

Through this award Mr. Chanchlani also hopes that he will set up a "system of giving that many more will follow later," exactly the way nature creates a rhythm that works on its own, without expecting anything in return, thus creating a beautiful poem of rhythm without words!
