Canada India Foundation Chanchlani Global Indian Award
Canada India Foundation ("CIF") is a national not for profit organization established in 2007 and dedicated to promoting bi-lateral relations between Canada and India, while working to secure and promote the interests of Canada's dynamic Indo-Canadian community within the Canadian mosaic.
CIF is currently organizing its 1st Annual Award and Gala Dinner on Friday April 18, 2008, to recognize excellence and celebrate achievement in the Global Indian Diaspora. As part of the Gala dinner, we will present the "Global Indian Award" to a recipient who has demonstrated global leadership, vision and professional excellence, which has made all of us of Indian origin extremely proud of our heritage. This award will be presented annually.
CIF recognizes the Global Indian's journey that led to being the main catalyst for the transformation of India into a global economy today. India's emergence, from the backwaters of global economy to its frontline is generating aspirations for the future. The award celebrates the contribution such individuals who "made it happen".
This award will be named the "CIF Chanchlani Global Indian Award".
The award will be in the form of a unique trophy accompanied with donations to approved charities over a period of 5 years in the name of the award recipient. The donations will be to a maximum of $50,000 per award recipient.
