David is a true success story. He came to Canada from Guyana with only
$22 in his pocket and a passion and will to succeed in his new country.
David is a graduate of George Brown College and York University, a
Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Life Insurance
Management Institute. As a member of the Board of Governors of George
Brown, David created and founded the Diploma Program in Financial
Planning. In 1988 David created Fortune Financial Management and within
8 years grew the company to 85 offices throughout Canada, managing over
$8 billion in assets.
For 3 consecutive years, Fortune was named one of Canada's 50 Best
Managed Private Companies.In 1997 David co-founded the Infinity Group
of Mutual Funds and in 1999 both companies were sold for $88 million.
David is the 1995 recipient of the Ontario Premier's Award as an
outstanding graduate from the field of business. And in 1997 Ernst and
Young nominated David as Canada's Entrepreneur of the Year. David is
the author of 5 books. ('The Making of Fortune', 'Take Control of Your
Financial Destiny', 'Health, Wealth & Happiness', 'Retire Early and
Wealthy', and 'A Passion to Succeed').
Currently, David is the Chairman and CEO of the Destiny Group of
Companies, which includes the Destiny Investment Bank of St. Lucia.
Destiny Foundation is the gifting initiative arm of Destiny Group of
Companies. Destiny is an international financial management and
strategies company with businesses operating in Canada, the United
States and the Caribbean. Through its work with the Stephen Lewis
Foundation, Global Medic, Doctors Without Borders, Order of Malta, the
International Red Cross and numerous other charitable groups, Destiny
assists donors in helping the less fortunate around the world.
